A catch-all email mailbox is one that gathers all the messages sent to invalid addresses. For example, if your address is info@domain.com, but somebody miswrites it and sends an email message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have created. Just one mailbox per domain name can have this feature enabled and thus you will never miss messages because the other party has an obsolete address or has made a mistake. The disadvantage of creating a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving plenty of unsolicited messages, but this problem can be resolved using an anti-spam protection solution. It’s also important to know that a mailbox with an enabled catch-all functionality cannot forward inbound email messages to a 3rd-party email address.
Catch-all Emails in Website Hosting
Creating a catch-all e-mailbox will be quite easy if you have a Linux website hosting package with us. You can activate this feature through our powerful, albeit user-friendly Email Manager tool, which is integrated into the Hepsia Control Panel, via which you’ll manage your shared hosting account. You’ll find all the email addresses that you’ve set up enumerated alphabetically and to the right of each one there will be a tiny "Catch-all" icon, which will instantly reveal to you whether a specific mailbox gets all the email messages pertaining to a given domain or not. With a single click on the icon you can enable or disable this feature whenever you wish. In case there’s active email forwarding or in case some other mailbox has already been configured as a catch-all one for a particular domain name, you’ll get a warning note from our system. The latter won’t replace/deactivate anything automatically and without your consent.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting
You’ll be able to create a catch-all email address with no more than one click if you’ve got a Linux semi-dedicated package with our company and your email messages are handled by our cloud platform. All the mailboxes that you set up using any domain name hosted in your account will be shown in the Hepsia Control Panel’s Email Manager section. Each of them will have a tiny "Catch-all" icon next to it, so all it will take to enable this option will be to click on that icon. In the exact same manner you will be able to turn off the feature, if you don’t need it anymore. Our system will inform you if you are attempting to enable a second catch-all mailbox for a given domain name or in case there’s enabled email forwarding, but it will never disable or modify anything automatically and without your approval.
