Dot NAME Domain Names

Established in 2001, the Dot NAME top-level domain is the single TLD meant for personal sites only. These domain names can consist of personal or fictitious names, aliases and/or other designations people are famous by. At first, only third-level registrations were allowed, so if you wished to obtain john.doe.name, you had to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was liberalized and second-level registrations were also allowed. Already acquired 3rd-level names remained operational.

You will have the chance to update the WHOIS contact information, to park your domain, to modify Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an active domain to our company if you have its EPP transfer authorization code from the current registration service provider and we will renew it after the transfer has been finalized. There are no specific terms on who can book a .NAME domain, but in order to preserve the objective behind its establishment alive, the Registry may check who the Registrant is and if there is no link between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration can be challenged.
